Puertoblanco-Montecalpe: pienso en los demás
Se puede ser más feliz compartiendo con los demás, y es que la solidaridad es uno de los valores de los centros educativos de Attendis.
En el Colegio Puertoblanco - Montecalpe trabajamos desde el aula con nuestra misión presente, que no es otra que transformar la sociedad a través de la familia. Una labor de educación y servicio de padres, profesores y alumnos. La solidaridad en el colegio, es un atributo que durante el mes de diciembre es el protagonista pero se lleva a la práctica a través de diferentes actividades a lo largo del curso, enseñando a los alumnos a pensar en los demás.

Puertoblanco-Montecalpe
Hemos entregado más de 1000 kilos al Banco de Alimentos de Algeciras, gracias a las familias implicadas de los colegios Puertoblanco - Montecalpe. Son decenas de bolsas con productos de alimentos no perecederos, con el compromiso colaborativo de toda la comunidad educativa. Como cada año seguimos la labor que empezó nuestro querido profesor Don Miguel Sibón.
Karen Ollivier, responsable de Bilingüismo y organizadora de esta recogida, añade que la segunda captación de productos de higiene personal y limpieza se está llevado a cabo para colaborar con la Asociación Ángelus Luna: “Esta entidad ayuda a las familias más necesitadas de Algeciras”.
La presidenta de la asociación, Palma Briales, ha acudido al colegio para agradecer en persona al alumnado su colaboración y compartir más información sobre su labor.
Alegría:
El ambiente navideño y solidario se hacía notar un año más con las familias, gracias al “III Mercadillo Solidario” que organizó el AMPA de Puertoblanco-Montecalpe el fin de semana previo a las vacaciones de Navidad. Esta vez en beneficio de Cáritas. Una variedad de puestos montados por marcas y particulares que voluntariamente se ofrecieron a vender sus productos, en una jornada familiar y divertida acompañada de diferentes actuaciones.
Transformar la sociedad:
Otra actividad que ha emocionado a padres, profesores y alumnos ha sido el proyecto de indagación de 3° de Educación Primaria, guiado por la profesora Elvira Delgado. En él, han contactado con una misionera que colabora con las Hermanas de la Caridad de India y han recaudado dinero entre la clase para comprar ropa y juguetes a los niños del orfanato donde trabaja la voluntaria. Del aula a la India, las alumnas tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer una videoconferencia con ella para acercarse a la realidad con la que están colaborando.
Además, bajo el lema: “Pienso en los demás”, se engloban más acciones solidarias para todo el curso. Una de ellas es el “Torneo de Pádel solidario y el Torneo de Fútbol”, donde participan padres, profesores y alumnos, otorgando una donación simbólica y aportando alimentos no perecederos a modo de inscripción.
Por otro lado los alumnos de ESO y Bachillerato cuentan con dos actividades solidarias, ellos se acercan cada semana a la Residencia Hogar San José, para acompañar y atender en lo que sea necesario a los ancianos que viven en esa residencia, y otro grupo de alumnos visitan la Asociación de Asansull, institución que atiende a personas discapacitadas.
Las familias también se involucran en estas actividades; una de ellas es el “Desayuno Solidario”, en el que todas las aulas participan. Los alumnos traen bizcochos elaborados en sus hogares, para luego venderlos en el colegio, cuya recaudación va a la Asociación Harambee, una ONG de África.
Otra actividad en la que participan con los alumnos es la recaudación de un juguete solidario. Esta campaña va dirigida a Cáritas Algeciras, donde se entregan regalos a los niños más necesitados de nuestra ciudad.
Con todas estas actividades se pretende dejar un testigo para que los alumnos lo continúen haciendo a lo largo de sus vidas, poniendo especial atención que todo diciembre es un mes para compartir con los demás.

At Colegio Puertoblanco - Montecalpe we work from the classroom with our mission in mind, which is none other than transforming society through family. Educational and service work for parents, teachers and pupils. Therefore, we are putting a special emphasis on charity at the school, an attribute that is taking centre stage during the month of December and it is being put into practice through different activities throughout the year.
Sharing:
We have delivered more than 1000 kilograms to the Algeciras Food Bank, thanks to the families involved from the Puertoblanco - Montecalpe schools. This is lots of bags with non-perishable food, with the collaborative commitment of the entire educational community. Just like every year, we are continuing the work started by our beloved teacher Mr Miguel Sibón.
Karen Ollivier, head of Bilingualism and the organiser of this collection, adds that the second collection of personal hygiene and cleaning products is being carried out in order to collaborate with the Ángelus Luna Association: “This entity helps the most disadvantaged families in Algeciras”. The president of the association, Palma Briales, visited the school to personally thank the pupils for their collaboration and share more information about her work.

The Christmas and charitable atmosphere was noted once again this year with families, thanks to the “III Charity Market” organised by the Puertoblanco-Montecalpe Parent´s Association on the weekend before the Christmas holidays. This time in aid of Cáritas. A variety of stands set up by brands and individuals who voluntarily offered to sell their products, on a fun family day accompanied by different performances.

Another activity that moved parents, teachers and pupils was the 3rd year Primary Education research project, led by the teacher Elvira Delgado. In it, they contacted a missionary who collaborates with the Sisters of Charity of India and they raised money among the class in order to buy clothing and toys for children from the orphanage where the volunteer works. From the classroom to India, the pupils had the chance to hold a videoconference with her in order to get closer to the reality that they are collaborating with.
Also, under the slogan: “I think of others”, more charity actions are being organised for the entire year. One of them is the “Charity Padel Tournament and the Football Tournament”, where parents, teachers and pupils are participating, by giving a symbolic donation and giving non-perishable foods as an enrolment donation.
On the other hand, the secondary and Baccalaureate pupils have two charity activities, they go every week to the San José Home Residency, to accompany and offer whatever support is needed to the old people who live in the residency, and another group of pupils visit the Asansull Association, an institution that supports disabled people.
The families also get involved in these activities; one of them is the “Charity Breakfast”, that all the classes participate in. The pupils bring cakes made at home, to then sell them at school, the money raised goes to the Harambee Association, an NGO in Africa.
Another activity that the pupils are participating in is the collection of charity toys. This campaign is targeted at Cáritas Algeciras, where gifts are given to the most disadvantaged children in our city.
With all of these activities, the aim is to provide an example in order for pupils to continue doing it throughout their lives, putting a special emphasis on the fact that every December is a month for sharing with others.
