Tras el tiempo de confinamiento decretado por el Gobierno y debido al miedo de muchos de nosotros a salir a la calle, nuestras viviendas y cómo están diseñadas han adquirido una importancia mayor. Han puesto en valor las terrazas, los espacios exteriores, una distribución práctica y una decoración agradable.

Hasta ahora solo pasábamos en casa una parte de la jornada, y al pasar el 100% del tiempo nos damos cuenta de la importancia que la vivienda, y de cómo debe adaptarse a nosotros.

Una vivienda impersonal puede servir a corto plazo para cubrir una necesidad, pero para habitarla plenamente no es suficiente.

La vivienda perfecta debe reflejar nuestra forma de vivir, nuestros hobbies, nuestras preferencias, nuestra familia, nuestros objetivos y sueños, y nuestra forma de ser. Si nuestra vivienda se proyecta teniendo en cuenta estos parámetros, entonces seremos felices en ella.

Esta percepción tendrá consecuencias en el mercado inmobiliario, y hará que el cliente/comprador sea más exigente a la hora de elegir. Exigirá que la vivienda sea de calidad, no solo en los materiales, sino en el funcionamiento.

Ahí es donde a los Arquitectos se nos valorará por la calidad de nuestras propuestas y no por otros parámetros menos relevantes para el producto final.

Otro aspecto importante que ha adquirido importancia es la calidad de la construcción, el aislamiento acústico y la eficiencia energética. Que nuestra vivienda no contara con el suficiente aislamiento acústico era algo que a lo mejor no nos hemos dado cuenta hasta ahora, que hemos pasado tantas horas en ella.

Y de si nos interesa o no invertir en un sistema de ahorro energético, al no estar en casa, no nos dábamos cuenta de hasta cuánto puede ascender la factura de la luz cuando la construcción que nos rodea no es eficiente.

Ha tenido que llegar una pandemia para concienciar al consumidor de arquitectura.

REFLECTIONS FROM N+A ARCHITECTS

After the period of confinement decreed by the Government and due to the fear of many of us to go outside, our homes and how they’ve been designed, have become more important.

They have put in value the terraces, the outdoor spaces, a practical layout and a pleasant decoration.

In the past, we used to spend part of the day at home. Now, after spending 100% of the time instead, we realized the importance of our houses, and how they should be reflect of our lives.

An impersonal dwelling may be useful to cover a need, but to fully inhabit it is not enough.

The perfect home should reflect our way of life, our hobbies, our preferences, our family, our goals and dreams, and our way of being. If our home is designed taking into account these parameters, then, we will be happy in it.

This perception will have consequences in the Real Estate market, and will make the client / buyer more demanding when choosing. It will demand the house to be a product of quality, not only in materials, but also in practicality.

This is when Architects will be appreciated by the quality of our proposals, and not for other less relevant parameters for the final product.

Another important aspect that has become relevant is the quality of the construction, the acoustic insulation and the energy efficiency. That our house did not have enough acoustic insulation was something that we may not have realized until now, that we have spent so many hours in it.

And, whether or not we are interested in investing in an energy saving system, not being at home, we did not realize how much the electricity bill can rise when the construction that surrounds us is not efficient.

A pandemic came to become the customer of Architecture more exigent.
