En las páginas del diario que sostiene, este periódico del mes de marzo [recuerde, el siguiente es la edición especial de Semana Santa que este año parece que se hace esperar más que de costumbre] disfrutará, sí ha leído bien, disfrutará de una agradable noticia más que positiva y fructífera para toda la zona. En el próximo mes de junio, Pau Gasol (una de las grandes leyendas del deporte de este país y seguramente, de no existir Rafa Nadal, sería considerado en el mayor de todos los tiempos) celebrará un torneo benéfico de golf durante tres jornadas en La Hacienda. Nada mejor que unir deporte y solidaridad, ya que el evento está auspiciado por la fundación de dos veces ganador de la NBA con los Ángeles Lakers, para lograr recaudar fondos y luchar contra obesidad infantil, sin duda, uno de los grandes problemas que está afectando a las jóvenes generaciones de todo el mundo. El sedentarismo, más vida en casa y menos interacción social a través de las pantallas, va de mano de un importante aumento de obesidad entre los más jóvenes. Vincular estos conceptos de deporte y solidaridad también es lifestyle y también es Sotogrande. Acoger, promover, incentivar e impulsar eventos y actos de este tipo son fundamentales para la personalidad, filosofía e identidad de una zona.

Crecer desde la educación Growing through education

Existen muchos valores, conceptos, atractivos y tangibles desde los que construir una comunidad positiva, superlativa y en constante evolución a todos los niveles. Muchos pueden ser los motivos que eleven y prestigien un destino, una localización, municipio o entorno pero, sin duda, no existe mayor dedicación, orgullo y privilegio, a nivel institucional y social, que crecer y mostrar un lugar en el mundo a través de la educación.

En los últimos años, Sotogrande como destino y toda su área de influencia más inmediato, han ido creciendo, mejorando, evolucionando y transformándose con nuevas alternativas, más opciones y un destacado desarrollo a nivel cuantitativo y cualitativo, como uno de los destinos de mayor nivel a la hora de establecer un entorno educativo de primera calidad. Opciones que combinan desde la enseñanza más avanzada, alternancias de educación internacional e incluso, con grandes opciones para una educación pública también de calidad en el Valle del Guadiaro.

Aranceles y víctimas

Como en las guerras de verdad, las guerras comerciales causan numerosas víctimas inocentes.

Tariffs and victims

Just like wars for truth, trade wars cause many innocent victims.

What we are experiencing in the United States is not new. Its founding fathers applied tariffs to goods coming from abroad, especially from the United Kingdom. This protectionist custom was upheld and achieved milestones such as the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Law.

With tariffs, we see the same thing as with price controls: they never work and often harm those who they aim to protect. Franklin D. Roosevelt shut down the markets with the Smoot-Hawley Law and exacerbated the Great Depression.

Protectionism does not protect, because it makes goods more expensive. It may benefit some non-competitive local producers, but it harms consumers and the economy in general. Trump’s initiative to tax imports of wine and other goods from Europe, which affects France and Italy, but also Spain, logically caused a lot of concern on this side of the Atlantic, but also on the American side, due to the losses that it may cause among traders, distributors, restaurants and, of course, the consumer public.

De momento, no es probable que el presidente crea que él mismo vaya a ser una de las víctimas de sus propias políticas.

Los cortes suelen ocurrir a partir de las siete de la tarde, lo que afecta a un correcto servicio en los establecimientos, limitando su capacidad para atender a los clientes

Los negocios han expresado su frustración al no solo tener pérdidas económicas, sino que tampoco pueden ofrecer un servicio de calidad a los clientes, mientras que los vecinos se quejan de que no pueden

Un proyecto que será llevado a cabo por la Demarcación de Costas con una inversión de 1 millón de euros, siendo este el tema más relevante de la reunión.

Durante la sesión, Isabel María Solís Sánchez, del Partido Popular, asumió su cargo como concejal, reemplazando a Zoraida Mena Gavira. Esta segunda fase del proyecto para la recuperación ambiental de la costa de Torreguadiaro

se basa en un plan elaborado por los servicios técnicos del Ayuntamiento en 2011. La propuesta de la

Demarcación de Costas se ajusta al diseño original y tiene como objetivo conectar los paseos maríti-

Lluvia y lodazal, una consecuencia diaria en Torreguadiaro

A raíz de las fuertes precipitaciones de las últimas semanas, desde el puente largo del Día Andalucía, vuelve a repetirse una estampa, una imagen y una situación que viene reproduciéndose con asiduidad en Torreguadiaro (especialmente en la zona de la rotonda y vías de servicio

junto a la plaza Encarnación Sánchez Navarro), con ocasión de cada jornada de lluvia. El arrastre de sedimentos y arena acaba provocando un lodazal de fango que requiere de actuaciones directas para su alivio.

Si bien es cierto que desde

hace años, más en la zona de la rotonda en la que se situaba la escultura de la Innocence, la zona alta de terreno frente a los aparcamientos de la playa desplazaba sedimentos y fango; a raíz de los movimientos de tierra en el proyecto urbanístico que se está desarrollando en esa

parcela, esta cuestión se ha incrementado de manera exponencial. Dejando imágenes de un auténtico lodazal en días de fuertes lluvias o con varias jornadas continuadas con precipitaciones.

Como se puede apreciar en las imágenes, la calzada y todos los accesos quedan casi impracticables y en un deteriorado estado, dificultando enormemente el tránsito. Reconocer que por parte de las entidades involucradas, en la medida de lo posible, se trata de reparar, limpiar y adecentar esta zona cada vez que ocurre pero con efectos inmediatos y cíclicos es imposible de contener. Lo que sugiere la imperiosa necesidad de implantar algún sistema de contención que evite que esto se siga reproduciendo de manera

sistemática.

Son varios los vecinos que vienen reclamando y denunciando en los últimos meses varios inconvenientes propios de la proximidad y cercanía con una obra de tal calado, como la del proyecto que viene desarrollándose en ese acceso de Torreguadiaro, y que igualmente precisan una solución que evite circunstancias de este tipo.

Ya en otras ventanas de fuertes precipitaciones, tanto a finales de pasado año como a inicios de este 2025, se han vivido y recreado situaciones similares. Lo que a todas luces señala que habría que buscar, entre las partes protagonistas, una situación de contención a más largo plazo para evitar estas consecuencias.

Rain and mud, a daily consequence in Torreguadiaro

As a result of the heavy rainfall last weekend, from weekend of Andalusia Day, we once again saw a scene, an image, and a situation that regularly occurs in Torreguadiaro (especially in the roundabout area and service roads next to Plaza Encarnación Sánchez Navarro), with each day of rain. The dragging of sediment and sand ends of causing a quagmire of mud that requires direct action to be alleviated.

Although it is true that for years, more in the roundabout area where the Innocence sculpture was located, the high area of land opposite the beach parking spaces moved sediment and mud; due to the earth moving in the urban development project that is being carried out on the plot, the issue has exponentially increased. Arcgisa elimina la medida de reducción de presión

en el suminstro de agua en horario nocturno

• La actuación cumplirá con la dotación acordada para consumo humano por la Comisión Gestora de la Sequía y facilitará el abastecimiento durante el período nocturno a toda la población campogibraltareña hasta el esperado levantamiento de restricciones ante la actual situación hidrológica comarcal.

Ante las intensas y persistentes precipitaciones que vienen aconteciendo en toda la comarca campogibraltareña y, en consonancia con la nueva realidad hidrológica existente, caracterizada por la presencia de notables volúmenes de agua embalsada, tanto en el embalse de Charco Redondo (que se encuentra en un 61,96 %de su capacidad) como en el de Guadarranque (con un 84,88%) y estando a la espera de la próxima reunión de la Comisión de Gestión de la Sequía de la demarcación de las Cuencas Mediterráneas Andaluzas, ARCGISA eliminará la medida de reducción de presión en horario nocturno, medida adicional adoptada y que afectaba directamente al consumo domiciliario de los ciudadanos.

Dicha medida fue una de las actuaciones adicionales adoptadas por la empresa pública para alcanzar y garantizar la dotación de agua exigida por la Comisión Gestora de la Sequía ante la situación de escasez severa (estado de alerta) en la que se encontraba inmerso el Campo de Gibraltar. La medida, cuya afectación a la ciudadania es variable en virtud de la orografía de cada localidad, ha garantizado el

abastecimiento de agua durante este largo periodo de sequia, de más de tres años y medio, que ha padecido la comarca.

Las restantes medidas adoptadas en el ámbito del uso urbano, agrario e industrial, aprobadas por la Comisón de Gestión de la Sequía y tomadas en conocimiento por la Mesa de Sequía Comarcal, se mantendrán hasta la próxima reunión de la citada comisión gestora andaluza, al ser el órgano competente para la adopción de las correctas actuaciones al respecto, en virtud de la evolución de la situación hidrológica.

Por todo ello, la medida adoptada por parte de ARCGISA beneficiará a la ciudadanía, que podrá disponer de agua con una mayor presión durante la franja horaria nocturna a la espera de las futuras decisiones del la Comisión de Gestión de la Sequía. No obstante, ARCGISA solicita a la población que persista en el ejercicio de conductas responsables con el uso del agua, valorando, protegiendo y cuidando este recurso vital para la salud de la población y del medio ambiente, mediante la adopción de prácticas responsables de gestión del agua.

• The action will comply with the provision agreed for human consumption by the Drought Management Commission and will facilitate the supply during the night period to the entire population of Campo de Gibraltar until the expected lifting of restrictions in view of the current regional hydrological situation.

In view of the intense and persistent rainfall that has been occurring throughout the Campogibraltar region and, in line with the new hydrological reality, characterised by the presence of significant volumes of water in reservoirs, both in the Charco Redondo reservoir (which is at 61.96% of its capacity) and in the Guadarranque reservoir (with 84.88%), and while awaiting the next meeting of the Drought Management Commission of the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin District, ARCGISA will eliminate the measure to reduce the drought reduction in the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin Demarcation, 88%) and pending the next meeting of the Drought Management Commission of the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin District, ARCGISA will eliminate the measure to reduce pressure at night, an additional measure adopted and which directly affected citizens’ domestic consumption. Dos estudiantes de 1º de Bachillerato del Colegio San José, que previamente fueron seleccionados en la fase autonómica del Modelo de Par-

lamento Europeo (MEP) para participar en la fase nacional, han debatido junto a jóvenes diputados de toda España sobre “La autonomía estratégica energética”, “Los retos para la cultura y el arte”, “La cuestión de los acuerdos de la UE con los países vecinos para controlar la migración” y “Garantizar unos medios de comunicación libres y plurales en la UE”. Las diferentes comisiones han celebrado reuniones de trabajo durante tres días en Madrid, entre el 1 y 3 de marzo, que han culminado

con una sesión parlamentaria celebrada en el Congreso de los Diputados. Este programa tiene como objetivo fomentar

en los jóvenes la conciencia de ciudadanía europea y la cultura de debate parlamentario constructivo en la que los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de investigar sobre diferentes temas de actualidad europea, dar su opinión y presentar sus propuestas.

Pie diabético: una seria complicación de la diabetes que requiere atención especializada

El pie diabético es una complicación grave de la diabetes que puede tener dramáticas consecuencias si no se trata adecuadamente. Según la Sociedad Española de la Diabetes, la prevalencia de esta enfermedad ha alcanzado casi el 15% de la población, afectando a uno de cada siete adultos.

El doctor Fernando Gallardo, codirector del servicio de Angiología y Cirugía Vascular del Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, incide en la importancia de dar a conocer las causas, las consecuencias y las opciones de tratamiento disponibles para esta afección. En cuanto a las causas, el especialista manifiesta que “el pie diabético es una condición compleja que se desarrolla como resultado de una combinación de factores, incluyendo la neuropatía diabética, que es el daño a los nervios causado por los altos niveles de azúcar en la sangre, que puede provocar pérdida de sensibilidad en los pies, lo que aumenta el riesgo de lesiones y úlceras; la enfermedad vascular periférica, ya que la diabetes puede afectar la circulación, provocando la obstrucción de las arterias y disminuyendo el riego sanguíneo en los miembros inferiores, lo que dificulta la curación de heridas y aumenta el riesgo de infecciones graves; y las infec-

ciones, una complicación común del pie diabético y que pueden ser difíciles de tratar debido a la mala circulación y la disminución de la capacidad de curación”

Por su parte, las consecuencias de no tratarse el pie diabético pueden llegar a ser muy graves. “Las úlceras son heridas y lesiones abiertas que pueden ser dolorosas y difíciles de curar. Hasta el punto en el que pueden llegar a infectarse y, en casos graves, pueden propagarse rápidamente y poner en peligro la vida, provocando un shock séptico. También existen casos extremos en los que por una atención tardía puede ser necesaria la amputación de uno o varios dedos, del pie o de la pierna para prevenir la propagación de la infección y salvar la vida del paciente. Aunque la mayoría de estas amputaciones podrían prevenirse”, sentencia el doctor Gallardo. Cuando se da la circunstancia en la que el paciente padece el pie diabético, se procede al tratamiento centrándolo en prevenir complicaciones, mejorar la circulación a las extremidades, curar las heridas y controlar la infección.

En palabras del doctor Fernando Gallardo, “las opciones de tratamiento pueden incluir en primera instancia un óptimo cuidado de los pies, ya que es fundamental mantenerlos limpios, secos e

hidratados. Se deben revisar diariamente para detectar cualquier lesión o ampolla. En línea con esto, es muy importante utilizar un calzado adecuado y unas plantillas ortopédicas con la finalidad de ayudar a prevenir lesiones y úlceras. Por otra parte, es esencial el control exhaustivo de la diabetes, manteniendo los niveles de azúcar en la sangre bajo control para prevenir complicaciones a largo plazo. Y también destacamos la importancia del tratamiento de heridas, úlceras y otras lesiones, que deben ser tratadas por un profesional. Esto puede incluir el uso de apósitos especiales, terapias de presión negativa y, en algunos casos, siempre y cuando

esté indicado, el tratamiento revascularizador”

Tratamiento quirúrgico y revascularizador del pie diabético

En casos graves, puede ser necesaria la cirugía para extirpar tejidos infectados, drenar abscesos o realizar una amputación menor. Esto suele ser la consecuencia de un diagnóstico inadecuado o tardío.

“La cirugía puede desempeñar un papel crucial en el tratamiento del pie diabético en situaciones específicas. Los procedimientos quirúrgicos pueden incluir desbridamientos, que es la eliminación del tejido muerto o infectado para promover la curación; el drenaje de abs-

cesos o la eliminación del pus acumulado en una cavidad infectada; revascularización, que son procedimientos para mejorar el flujo sanguíneo a los pies, ya sea mediante angioplastias y colocación de stents, o mediante bypasses quirúrgicos; o amputación, que como indicamos anteriormente es la extirpación de un dedo, pie o pierna en casos graves para prevenir la propagación de la infección, una técnica que un nuestro centro es la última opción contemplada, ya que estamos especializados en el salvamento de extremidades”, apostilla el codirector del servicio de Angiología y Cirugía Vascular del Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar.

Diabetic foot is a serious complication of diabetes that can have dramatic consequences if it isn’t properly treated. According to the Spanish Society for Diabetes, the prevalence of this illness has reached almost 15% of the population, affecting one in every seven adults.

In turn, the consequences of not treating diabetic foot can end up being very serious. “Ulcers are wounds and open sores which can be painful and difficult to heal. To the extent that they can get infected and, in serious cases, they can quickly spread and endanger life, causing septic shock. There are also extreme cases where, due to over-

due care, it may be necessary to have amputation of one or several toes, the foot, or the leg, in order to prevent the spread of infection and save the patient’s life. However, most of these amputations could be prevented” states Doctor Gallardo. When a situation occurs where the patient suffers from diabetic foot, treatment is carried out focused on preventing complications, improving circulation to the limbs, healing wounds and controlling infection. According to Doctor Fernando Gallardo, “treatment options can, in the first instance, include optimal care for the feet, as it is crucial to keep them clean, dry, and moisturised. They should be checked each day in order to detect any injuries or blisters. In line with this, it is very important to wear suitable footwear and orthopaedic insoles in order to help

to prevent injuries and ulcers. On the other hand, it is essential to have rigorous control of diabetes, keeping blood sugar levels under control in order to prevent long term complications. And we also highlight the importance of treating wounds, ulcers and other injuries, which should be treated by a professional. This can include the use of special dressings, negative pressure therapies, and in some cases, whenever it is recommended, revascularization treatment.”

Surgical and revascularization treatment of diabetic foot

In serious cases, surgery may be required to remove infected tissue, drain abscesses or carry out a minor amputation. This is normally the consequence of an incorrect or late diagnosis.

“In specific situations, surgery can play a crucial role in the treatment of diabetic foot. Surgical procedures can include debridements which is the removal of dead or infected tissue to encourage healing; the drainage of abscesses or the removal of pus that has accumulated in an infected cavity; revascularization, which are procedures to improve blood flow to the feet, whether through angioplasties and fitting stents, or through surgical bypasses; or amputation, which as we outlined previously is the removal of a toe, foot, or leg in serious cases in order to prevent the spread of infection, a technique which at our hospital is the last option considered, as we specialise in saving limbs” states the co-head of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery department at Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar.

Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, con un 51,15 %, ha sido elegido como Secretario General del PSOE de Cádiz, donde el otro candidato Javier Ruiz Arana ha conseguido el 48,68 por ciento de los votos.

El coordinador general del comité organizador de las primarias y del Congreso del PSOE de Cádiz, Juan Cornejo, ha destacado la normalidad y el ejemplo democrático que ha demostrado nuevamente la militancia socialista de la provincia, celebrando las primeras primarias de la historia del PSOE de Cádiz para elegir a su líder provincial con absoluta normalidad y democracia interna y transparencia. El coordinador ha destacado así la alta participación de los militantes socialistas gaditanos en la práctica totalidad de las mesas electorales, superior al 74,74 por ciento del censo.

Hospiten Estepona inaugura la ampliación de sus

nuevas instalaciones y servicios de alta especialización

En el día de hoy se ha celebrado el acto inaugural de la nueva zona de Urgencias de adultos y pediátricas, Consultas Externas y Hospitalización en Hospiten Estepona. Las obras de ampliación y modernización, que han concluido recientemente con una inversión de 16 millones de euros, han respondido a la creciente demanda de Estepona y los municipios colindantes, aumentando la capacidad asistencial, complejidad quirúrgica y cartera de servicios de los bloques de Hospitalización, Urgencias y Consultas Externas. Esta nueva construcción se conecta con el edificio existente, formando un conjunto totalmente integrado.

El evento de inauguración ha contado con la asistencia del Ilmo. Sr. José María García Urbano, alcalde de Estepona.

Se ha ampliado la capacidad del área de Hospitalización con un aumento en el número de habitaciones, alcanzando un total de 53, además de las 6 camas disponibles en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI).

En total, las áreas de Hospitalización y UCI suman 59 camas, lo que permite ofrecer una atención sanitaria de mayor complejidad asistencial.

El área de Urgencias ha experimentado también una notable expansión con la incorporación de un nuevo servicio especializado en Urgencias Pediátricas y un equipo de profesionales médicos dedicados a la atención de menores, permitiendo atender cualquier tipo de dolencia o emergencia infantil. Esta ampliación incluye la creación de dos circuitos diferenciados para adultos y niños, minimizando así los tiempos de espera. Asimismo, la renovación del bloque de Urgencias 24 horas ha supuesto un aumento de capacidad, pasando de 7 a 13 boxes, que abarcan boxes de reanimación cardiopulmonar, pediátricos, de aislamiento, además de una sala de aerosoles, una sala de triaje y salas de espera específicas para adultos y menores de edad.

En cuanto al área de Consultas Externas, se ha incrementado

el número de consultas en 12, lo que significa un total de 30 consultas de especialistas médicos entre la zona nueva y el bloque ya existente. Esta ampliación permite al conjunto hospitalario reforzar especialidades médicas muy demandadas, tales como la Unidad de Ginecología o Traumatología, Cirugía Vascular, Cirugía Cardiovascular, Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial, Oncología, Radiología Intervencionista o Neumología.

Esta ampliación ha permitido a Hospiten Estepona sumar a su Cuadro Médico especialidades médicas, como la Unidad de Angiología y Cirugía Vascular, Unidad de Tráfico, Rehabilitación y Fisioterapia o la Unidad

del Dolor. Además, se han incrementado las plazas de aparcamientos exteriores, resultando un total de 300 plazas.

El proyecto de ampliación ha generado un incremento del 30% de la plantilla. “Gracias a este ambicioso proyecto, hemos conseguido generar nuevos puestos de empleo, ampliando la plantilla de profesionales que trabajan para responder a las necesidades de los residentes de Estepona y alrededores. Este hito refleja nuestro compromiso con el ecosistema de bienestar de nuestros pacientes, no solo a nivel local, sino también a nivel internacional”, ha destacado Juan José Hernández Ru-

bio, presidente ejecutivo de Hospiten.

También ha señalado Hernández Rubio que “estos casi 16 meses de obras en Hospiten Estepona han tenido como principal objetivo dotar a nuestro hospital de una mayor complejidad asistencial, una apuesta por la innovación, así como ofrecer un servicio de calidad con un valor diferencial.”

La ampliación de Hospiten Estepona permitirá una mejora significativa en la atención a los pacientes, con la incorporación de nuevos servicios y especialidades. Esto refuerza el compromiso de Hospiten con las personas.

Hospiten Estepona unveils extension of its new facilities and highly specialised services

Today, the unveiling took place of the new Adult and paediatric emergencies, Outpatient visits and Hospitalisation areas at Hospiten Estepona. The extension and modernisation works, which recently concluded with an investment of 16 million Euros, met the growing demand of Estepona and the neighbouring municipalities, increasing the care capacity, surgical complexity, and the portfolio of services of the Hospitalisation, Emergency and Outpatient departments. This new construction is connected to the existing building, forming a fully integrated whole.

The opening event was attended by Mr. José María García Urbano, the mayor of Estepona.

The capacity of the Hospitalisation area has been extended with an increase in the number of rooms, now a total of 53, as well as 6 beds available in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In total, the Hospitalisation and ICU departments total 59 beds, making it possible to offer healthcare of greater care complexity.

The Emergency department has also undergone a significant extension with the addition of a new service specialising in Paediatric Emergencies and a team of medical professionals devoted to caring for children, enabling them to handle any type of illness or emergency that children may suffer. This extension includes the creation of two different circuits for adults and children, thus minimising waiting times. Likewise, the renovation of the Emergency 24hour block resulted in increased capacity, going from 7 to 13 bays, encompassing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, paediatric, isolation bays, as well as an aerosol room, a triage room and specific waiting rooms for adults and children.

With regard to the Outpatient area, the number of outpatient spaces has been increased by 12, resulting in a total of 30 specialist medical consultation spaces between the new area and the existing block. This extension enables the hospital as a whole to strengthen much sought-after specialities, such as the Gynaecology and Traumatology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology, Interventionist Radiology and Pneumology Units.

This extension has enabled Hospiten Estepona to add medical specialities to its Medical Team, such as the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Unit, Traffic Unit, Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy and the Pain Unit. Also, the number of outdoor parking spaces has increased, resulting in a total of 300 spaces.

The extension project has resulted in a staff increase of 30%. “Thanks to this ambitious project, we have managed to create new jobs, increasing the number of professio-

nals who work to meet the needs of residents in Estepona and the surrounding area. This milestone reflects our commitment to the wellness ecosystem of our patients, not only at a local level, but

Creando espacios que cuentan historias

1. ¿Qué les inspiró a convertirse en arquitectos y cómo ha evolucionado su enfoque a lo largo de los años?

Fuensanta: Desde pequeños, ambos siempre tuvimos una fascinación por la forma en que los espacios pueden influir en nuestras vidas. Recuerdo que, cuando éramos niños, José Manuel solía dibujar planos de casas imaginarias, y yo soñaba con los detalles interiores. Esa combinación de visiones nos llevó a estudiar arquitectura.

José Manuel: A lo largo de estos 40 años, hemos aprendido a fusionar nuestros estilos y visiones. Al principio, éramos más influenciados por las tendencias del momento, pero con el tiempo, hemos encontrado nuestro propio camino, donde la tradición y la vanguardia se entrelazan en cada proyecto.

2. Su eslogan dice: “Fusionamos tradición y vanguardia en cada espacio que creamos”. ¿Qué significa esto para ustedes en la práctica diaria?

Fuensanta: Para nosotros, significa respetar las raíces arquitectónicas y culturales del lugar, mientras introducimos elementos contemporáneos que respondan a las necesidades actuales.

Es un equilibrio constante entre lo que fue y lo que puede ser.

José Manuel: Exactamente. La tradición nos da una base sólida, pero la vanguardia nos permite innovar y adaptarnos a los tiempos que corren. Cada proyecto es un diálogo entre estas dos dimensiones.

3. A lo largo de sus 40 años de carrera, ¿hay algún proyecto en particular que los haya impactado más y por qué?

José Manuel: Uno de nuestros proyectos más significativos fue la Rehabilitación del “Palacete de Narvaez” como Centro de Visitantes del Parque Natural de La Sierra de Baza. Granada. Al restaurar y dar nueva vida a un espacio que tenía tanta historia, sentimos que conectábamos con el pasado de una manera profunda.

Fuensanta: Además, este proyecto nos enseñó la importancia de escuchar las historias de las personas que habitaron ese lugar. Cada detalle que incorporamos fue pensado para honrar su legado.

4. ¿Cómo incorporan la sostenibilidad y el respeto por el medio ambiente en sus diseños?

Fuensanta: La sostenibilidad es una de nuestras prioridades. Siempre buscamos utilizar materiales locales y técnicas de construcción que minimicen el impacto ambiental. Creemos que cada edificio debe integrarse armónicamente en su entorno.

José Manuel: También nos aseguramos de que nuestros diseños maximicen la luz natural y la ventilación, lo que no solo ahorra energía, sino que también mejora la calidad de vida de quienes habitan en nuestros espacios.

5. Con la llegada de la Primavera y del buen tiempo, ¿cómo se sienten al crear espacios que celebran la vida y la comunidad?

José Manuel: La Primavera es una

temporada muy especial para nosotros. Es un momento en el que dada la mejoría del tiempo, la gente se reúne, celebra y comparte. Nos emociona pensar que nuestros diseños pueden ser el telón de fondo para esos momentos memorables.

Fuensanta: Exactamente, y es por eso que tratamos de diseñar espacios exteriores ó abiertos al exterior que inviten a la interacción. Queremos que las familias se sientan cómodas y felices en los luga-

res que hemos creado.

6. ¿Qué consejo le darían a las parejas o familias que desean renovar sus espacios abiertos al exterior para esta temporada?

Fuensanta: Les sugeriríamos que piensen en el propósito del espacio. ¿Qué momentos quieren crear? Esto les ayudará a tomar decisiones sobre el diseño y la decoración que reflejen sus necesidades.

José Manuel: También es importante no sobrecargar el espacio. A

veces, menos es más. Un ambiente bien diseñado puede ser hermoso con pocos elementos, siempre y cuando cada uno tenga un significado especial.

7. Mirando hacia el futuro, ¿qué tendencias ven en la arquitectura y cómo planean adaptarse a ellas?

José Manuel: Notamos un creciente interés en la arquitectura sostenible y el diseño bioclimático. Las personas buscan espacios que no solo sean estéticamente agradables, sino también responsables con el medio ambiente.

Fuensanta: Así es. Planeamos seguir educándonos en nuevas tecnologías y materiales que nos permitan ser más eficientes y creativos en nuestro trabajo. La innovación es clave para nosotros.

8. Para finalizar, ¿qué mensaje les gustaría compartir con sus clientes y la comunidad en esta temporada Primaveral que está próxima a comenzar?

Fuensanta: Nos gustaría desearles que cada hogar sea un refugio donde se celebren los momentos importantes de la vida. José Manuel: Y recordemos que la arquitectura no sólo transforma espacios, sino que también crea historias. Estamos agradecidos por la oportunidad de ser parte de esas historias en cada proyecto que realizamos. 1. What inspired you to become architects and how has your approach evolved over the years?

Fuensanta: From an early age, we both always had a fascination for the way in which spaces can influence our lives. I remember that when we were children, José Manuel would draw designs for imaginary houses, and I would dream up the interiors. That combination of visions led us to study architecture.

José Manuel: Over these 40 years, we have learned to blend our styles and visions. To begin with, we were more influenced by the trends of the time, but over time, we have forged our own path, where tradition and cutting-edge modernity are interwoven into every project.

2. Your slogan says: “We blend tradition and modernity in every space we create.” What does this mean for you in everyday practice?

Fuensanta: For us, it means respecting the architectural and cultural roots of the place, while introducing contemporary elements that meet current needs. It is a constant balance between what was once there and what could be there.

José Manuel: Exactly. Tradition gives us a strong foundation, but modernity enables us to innovate and adapt to the times we live in. Each project is a conversation be-

tween these two dimensions.

3. Over your 40 year careers, are there any specific projects that have most impacted you and why?

José Manuel: One of our most significant projects was the revamping of the “Narvaez Palace” turning it into the Visitor Centre of La Sierra de Baza Natural Park.

Granada. By restoring and breathing new life into a space that had so much history, we feel that we connected with the past in a deep way.

Fuensanta: Also, this project taught us the importance of listening to the stories of the people who lived in that place. Every detail we added was devised to honour their legacy.

4. How do you incorporate sustainability and environmental respect into your designs?

Fuensanta: Sustainability is one of our priorities. We always aim to use local and technical building materials that minimise the environmental impact. We believe that each building should harmoniously integrate into its environment.

José Manuel: We also ensure that our designs maximise natural light and ventilation, which not only saves energy, but which also improves the quality of life of those who live in our spaces.

5.With the arrival of spring and good weather, how do you feel when creating spaces that celebrate life and the community?

José Manuel: Spring is a very special season for us. It is a time when people gather, celebrate and share because of the improved weather. We are excited to think that our designs can be the backdrop for those memorable moments.

Fuensanta: Exactly, and that is why we try to design outdoor spaces or which open onto the outdoors that invite people to socialise. We want families to feel comfortable and happy in the places that we have created.

6.What advice would you give to couples or families who want to revamp their spaces that open to the outdoors for this season?

Fuensanta: We would suggest that they should consider the purpose of the space. What moments do they want to create? This will help them to take decisions about design and decor that reflect their needs.

José Manuel: It is also important to not overload the space. Sometimes, less is more. A well-designed space can be beautiful with few elements, provided that each one has a special meaning.

7.Looking to the future, what trends do you see in architecture and how do you plan on adap-

ting to them?

José Manuel: We are noting growing interest in sustainable architecture and bioclimatic design. People are looking for spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasant, but which are also environmentally friendly.

Fuensanta: Indeed. We plan to continue educating ourselves about new technologies and materials that could enable us to be more efficient and creative in our work. Innovation is essential for us.

8.To finish, what message would you like to share with your clients and the community this spring

season that is about to begin?

Fuensanta: We would like to wish that every home is a haven where the important moments of life are celebrated.

José Manuel: And we should remember that architecture not only transforms spaces, but that it also creates stories. We are thankful for the chance to be a part of those stories in every project we create.

Juanma Moreno impulsa la tramitación de la Presa de Gibralmedina en su visita a Castellar de la Frontera

Moreno en su visita a Castellar de la Frontera ha hablado del inicio de la tramitación ambiental del proyecto de la Presa de Gibralmedina, una infraestructura que ha sido objeto de discusión durante los últimos treinta años. Este proyecto es fundamental para garantizar la seguridad hídrica del Campo de Gibraltar y ha sido declarado de Interés General del Estado.

El Gobierno andaluz se ha comprometido a redactar el proyecto de obras, con un presupuesto estimado de 2,2 millones de euros. La solución

propuesta tiene un coste total de 778 millones de euros.

La construcción de la presa permitirá transferir caudal desde el río Guadiaro hasta el arroyo de Gibralmedina, lo que aportará aproximadamente 25 hectómetros cúbicos (hm³) adicionales al sistema Guadarranque-Charco Redondo. En años de sequía extrema, este suministro podría aumentar hasta los 48 hm³, lo que sería suficiente para cubrir la demanda anual de 28 hm³ para riego. Este avance representa un paso significativo hacia la mejora de la gestión del agua

en la región.

El presidente andaluz ha señalado que, en situaciones de sequía prolongada, esta presa sería fundamental para garantizar el abastecimiento del Campo de Gibraltar, de sus vecinos, de su campo y de su industria y ha añadido que hasta la Mancomunidad de Municipios subraya que, de llevarse a cabo esta presa, se solucionaría el problema de la sequía en la zona para las próximas cinco décadas. “Por esto es crucial que el agua esté en el centro de acción política de todas las Administraciones Públicas”, ha señalado.

Como punto destacable de esta visita, Moreno ha asistido a la inauguración de la Conducción de Agua de la Zona Norte de San Roque, una obra estratégica para el Campo de Gibraltar y para garantizar el suministro de agua a sus vecinos, a su campo, a su ganadería y a su industria. En este punto, ha incidido en que el agua es una política fundamental para el Ejecutivo andaluz por lo que ha vuelto a reclamar al Gobierno de España que afronte las obras hídricas pendientes que son cruciales para Andalucía. De esta forma, ha destacado que esta infraestructura que hoy se inaugura consta de 17 kilómetros de tuberías entre esta Estación de Tratamiento de Agua Potable de Arenillas y el depósito de San Enrique de Guadiaro para transportar el agua potable a los vecinos de los municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, dejando la otra tubería preexistente solo

para llevar el agua desde los embalses de la zona a la potabilizadora. El presidente de la Junta ha manifestado que así se incrementan los recursos disponibles al poder captar más agua del río Guadiaro y se consume menos agua de los embalses de Charco Redondo y Guadarranque. Además, ha subrayado que es una infraestructura clave que ya beneficia a una población permanente de unos 225.000 habitantes, a lo que hay que sumar la demanda industrial del Puerto de Algeciras y los polos de San Roque y Los Barrios. Asimismo, ha matizado que también facilitará las transferencias de agua hasta la Costa del Sol occidental, muy afectada por la sequía por lo que, en momentos críticos, podrá activarse un trasvase de urgencia. “Hacer todo esto cuesta y cuesta mu-

cho. En torno a 20 millones de euros, una inversión muy considerable que hemos financiado con el Canon del Agua o Canon de Mejora Autonómico. Aquí se ve cómo lo recaudado se reinvierte y cómo el Gobierno andaluz exprime los recursos a su alcance para tratar de garantizar el abastecimiento de agua. Decir agua es decir vida, desarrollo y progreso”. Moreno ha insistido en que el Gobierno andaluz tiene un compromiso firme y una acción permanente con el agua, lo que queda demostrado en los 1.400 millones de euros que se han ejecutado desde 2019 a 2025 y en las 130 obras que están en marcha en las ocho provincias andaluzas por un importe de 835 millones. “Este 2025 tenemos previsto destinar 555 millones”, ha remarcado.

Juanma Moreno, on his visit to Castellar de la Frontera talked about the start of the environmental processing of the project for the Gibralmedina Dam, an infrastructure that has been discussed for the last thirty years. This project is essential to guarantee the water security of Campo de Gibraltar and has been declared to be of General State Interest.

The Andalusian Government has committed to drafting the construction project, with an estimated budget of 2.2 million Euros. The proposed solution comes at a total cost of 778 million Euros.

The construction of the dam will make it possible to transfer the flow of water from the Guadiaro River to the stream of Gibralmedina, which will contribute approximately 25 additional cubic hectometres (hm³) to the Guadarranque-Charco Redondo system. In years of extreme drought, this supply could increase to 48 hm³, which would be sufficient to cover the annual demand of 28 hm³ for irrigation. This advance represents a significant step forward towards improving the management of water in the region.

The Andalusian president stated that, in situations of prolonged drought, this dam would be essential to guarantee the supply of Campo de Gibraltar, its residents, its countryside and its industry, and he added that even the Association of Municipalities highlights that, if this dam were created, it would solve the problem of drought in the area for the next five decades. “Therefore, it is essential for water to be at the centre of the political action of all the Public Administrations” he stated.

As a notable point of this visit, Moreno attended the opening of the Water Pipe of the North of San Roque, a strategic work for Campo de Gibraltar and to guarantee the supply of water to residents, its countryside, livestock, and industry. In this regard, he stressed that water is an essential policy for the Andalusian Executive therefore he once again called on the Government of Spain to undertake the waterworks that are essential for Andalusia. Thus, he highlighted that this infrastructure that is now being opened consists of 17 kilometres of piping between the Arenillas Drinking Water Treatment Plant and the tank in San Enrique de Guadiaro to transport drinking water to the residents of the municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, leaving the other preexisting piping solely for the transportation of water from the reservoirs in the area to the water treatment plant. The president of the Regional Government stated that by doing so the available resources will be increased as more water will be captured from the Guadiaro River and less water will be consumed from the Charco Redondo and Guadarranque reservoirs. Also, he highli-

ghted that this is a key infrastructure as it benefits a permanent population of 225,000 inhabitants, in addition to the industrial demand of the Port of Algeciras and the hubs of San Roque and Los Barrios. Likewise, he added that it will facilitate the transfer of water to the western Costa del Sol, which is very affected by the drought therefore, at critical times, an emergency transfer could be activated. “Doing all this costs and costs a lot. Around 20 million Euros, a very significant investment that we have funded using the Water Surcharge or Regional Improvement Surcharge. del fin de semana es la séptima plaza de la debutante Carla Tejedo (+1 al total) en el Atlantic Beach Classic, torneo del Epson Tour. La castellonense se anotó en la tercera y definitiva vuelta uno de los mejores resultados del día, un -6 con el que ascendió más de treinta puestos. Teresa Toscano (+5) ha ocupado la posición 24.

Por otro lado, Ángel Ayora ha pasado corte en su primera incursión en el PGA Tour con motivo del Puerto Rico Open. El andaluz ha ocupado el puesto 59 con -9. Third event and another victory for Sergio García. The amazing golfer from Borriol is putting together a good start to the LIV Golf 2025 season and on the third stop of the competition, in Hong Kong, he earned his first victory this year. He did so with a total of 192 shots and benchmark authority which further endorses his good vibes for this campaign.

He finished with a three-shot lead over Dean Burmester and a four-shot lead over Phil Mickelson who also had a fantastic weekend. Jon Rahm continued his great form and managed to stay in the top 6 at the third event of the year.

It is worth highlighting that in the first two events of the year, the victories also had great ties to Spain. The first event of the season, in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) was won by Adrian Meronk who was the winner of the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters in 2023, a competition held at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.

The second event of the year crowned Joaquín Niemann, a Chilean golfer who also came within touching distance of victory at the I LIV Golf Andalucía event, held at Real Club Valderrama. He is always very considerate of the Spanish media and a guarantee of consistency and good results.

The next events on the LIV Golf 2025 calendar are 14 March in Singapore, 4 April in Miami, and 25 April, after Holy Week, in Mexico City.

La Fundación de Pau Gasol celebrará en La Hacienda su primer torneo benéfico de golf

• La cita reunirá del 19 al 22 de junio a numerosas caras conocidas del mundo del deporte y la sociedad con el objetivo de recaudar fondos y prevenir la obesidad infantil.

La Hacienda, en la élite del golf y con un fondo solidario. Pau Gasol, el genial exjugador de la NBA y uno de los mejores deportistas de la historia de España, anunció en sus Redes Sociales que su fundación [Gasol Foundation Europa] celebrará en La Hacienda Links Golf Resort, conjunto al Hotel Fairmont La Hacienda, su primer torneo de golf con carácter solidario. El torneo llevará por nombre Gasol Foundation Golf Invitational.

La cita se celebrará del 19 al 22 de junio, con tres jornadas de golf y diferentes citas y eventos alrededor del proyecto, nace con el claro objetivo de recaudar fondos para prevenir la obesidad infantil, a través del propio torneo y de la colaboración de diferentes firmas y empresas. Una cita ya marcada en rojo en el calendario de la zona y que asegura la presencia de numerosas caras conocidas del mundo del deporte al más alto nivel y de la sociedad, vinculados al golf.

The event will take place from 19 to 22 June, with three days of golf and different events around the project, it has been created with the clear aim of raising money to prevent childhood obesity, through the tournament itself and the collaboration of different brands and companies. • From 19 to 22 June, the event will bring together several well-known faces from the world of sport and society in order to raise money and prevent childhood obesity.

Dos detenidos como presuntos autores de numerosos hurtos cometidos en campos de golf

Guardias Civiles han detenido en el marco de la Operación GOLFINGERS, a dos personas como integrantes de un grupo criminal al que se le atribuyen al menos 15 delitos de hurto en diferentes campos de golf.

La investigación se inició a raíz denuncias interpuestas por hurtos cometidos en diferentes campos de golf del valle del Guadiaro, en el mu-

nicipio de San Roque. Las pesquisas realizadas por los agentes han permitido conocer el modus operandi de este grupo criminal que operaba también en campos de golf de la provincia de Málaga.

Los autores de los hechos accedían a los campos de golf, ataviados con uniformes de golfistas y aprovechaban los descuidos de los jugadores

para hacerse con sus pertenencias. De esta manera sustraían dinero en metálico, que en muchos casos se trataba de divisas extranjeras, además de joyería y relojes. El pasado día 12 los Guardia Civiles detuvieron a dos personas en el San Roque Club de Golf, cuando se disponían a marcharse del lugar, comprobando que llevaban su poder dinero y efectos que

habían sustraído a jugadores del Club.

Además, los Agentes tiene identificadas a otras 5 personas de nacionalidad rumana,

también integrantes del grupo a los que se les ha interpuesto un señalamiento judicial para conocer su paradero.

Two arrested for allegedly committing numerous thefts on golf courses

Civil Guards have arrested in the framework of Operation Golfingers, two people as members of a criminal group attributed with at least 15 offences of theft in different golfcourses.

The investigation began as a result of reports of thefts committed on different golf courses in the Guadiaro valley, in the municipality of San Roque. Investigations carried outbytheagentshaverevealed the modus operandi of this criminal group, which also operatedongolfcoursesinthe provinceofMalaga.

The perpetrators would enter the golf courses, dressed in golfing uniforms, and would

take advantage of the players’ carelessness to steal their belongings. In this way they stolecash,whichinmanycases wasforeigncurrency,aswellas jewelleryandwatches.

Onthe12th,theGuardiaCiviles arrestedtwopeopleattheSan Roque Golf Club, when they were about to leave the place, finding that they were in possession of money and effects that had been stolen fromplayersattheClub.

In addition, the agents have identified 5 other people of Romanian nationality, also members of the group, who have been given a judicial signal to know their whereabouts.

Adrián Gavira awarded Flag of Andalusia

Adrián Gavira, a benchmark in beach volleyball has been awarded the Flag of Andalusia for sport, an award that showcases his extensive trajectory and contribution to Spanish and international sport. Raised in the San Roque neighbourhood of Taraguilla, Gavira has been an example of effort and dedication, as one of the great ambassadors for beach volleyball in Spain. Throughout his career, Adrián Gavira has shown his commitment to his profession by qualifying and participating in four Olympic Games, an achievement that very few sportspeople are capable of. Also, his trophy cabinet stands out with a European champion title and over 30 medals in international competitions, strengthening his status as one of the best beach volleyball players in the recent history of Spain.

It is worth highlighting his family influence linked to the world of sport. His sister, Patri Gavira, is a well-known footballer, which further highlights her passion for sport.

Nacho Elvira (-9), Eugenio López-Chacarra (-7) y Ángel Ayora (-7) han terminado una buena semana en África.

En una situación parecida ha estado Carlota Ciganda en el Honda LPGA Thailand, parte del circuito estadounidense. El Alps Tour Golf, tercer circuito europeo masculino, ha comenzado esta semana con su primera de las dos competiciones consecutivas en Egipto. En el Ein Bay Open hay tres españoles en el Top 10: Mario Galiano, segundo con -12, e Ignacio Gómez-Osuna y Álvaro Hernández, quintos con -10. Solo un golpe ha distanciado al andaluz del ganador, el suizo Luca Galliano.
