Los alumnos de 2º de bachillerato afrontan un fin de curso atípico

En estas semanas de confinamiento en Puertoblanco-Montecalpe seguimos con la tarea que más nos ilusiona: estar cerca de nuestros alumnos y sus familias, ahora a través de Attendis at Home. Este sistema de trabajo y aprendizaje online, permite continuar con el ritmo habitual de las clases. Desde el colegio les seguimos acompañando día a día para que sientan el aliento y apoyo de sus profesores. Especialmente a los alumnos de 2º de Bachillerato que, como Julia, Belén y Antonio en un fin de curso lleno de incertidumbres, afrontan con madurez y responsabilidad la culminación de su etapa escolar. De igual modo acompañamos a sus familias para las que la graduación de sus hijos, es el colofón al proyecto educativo por el que apostaron.

¿En qué ha cambiado tu forma de estudiar con el inicio del confinamiento?

Julia: Durante estos días he tenido que adaptarme a esta situación excepcional marcándome unas nuevas pautas de estudio, compartiendo el mismo espacio y recursos con los miembros de mi familia. Hemos aprendido a ser más flexibles y a saber aprovechar mejor los tiempos de estudio.

 ¿Cuál es para ti el mayor reto de la enseñanza online?

Belén: En mi opinión el gran desafío de las clases online es el de intentar igualarse a la educación a la que estamos acostumbrados, manteniendo el ritmo habitual de estudio con las herramientas que poseemos. Los profesores, para ello, nos han adaptado las programaciones, dándole un mayor peso a los ejercicios diarios y el trabajo en clase.

Julia: En un principio pensaba que iba a ser todo mucho más complicado, pero con la ayuda de todas las profesoras no se está haciendo tan cuesta arriba. Ellas están poniendo todo de su parte para que esta situación no nos supere y día tras día nos demuestran su apoyo y su disponibilidad para cualquier cosa. ¡Es un lujo! 

¿Cómo afrontas la actual incertidumbre sobre la EBAU?

Belén: En estos momentos, tal y como nos recomiendan nuestras profesoras, sigo estudiando al mismo ritmo, teniendo en cuenta las nuevas fechas de exámenes. Sobre todo, creo que lo más importante es fijarse metas y no desaprovechar el tiempo.

Antonio: Para mí es un tanto complicado no por el temario ni por cómo vamos a llegar de preparados, sino por la incertidumbre de no tener claro aún cómo se va a desarrollar.

Julia: Aunque esta situación causa cierta inquietud y agobia bastante, confío en que los organismos encargados de tomar las decisiones respecto a selectividad sean sensibles a la realidad en la que nos encontramos.

 ¿Cómo organizas tu jornada/rutina diaria?

Belén: Por la mañana tengo clases online y las tardes las dedico a estudiar. Intento no hacer un uso constante de los dispositivos electrónicos para poder descansar la vista.

Antonio: Mi día consiste en participar en todas las clases y avanzar lo máximo posible haciendo actividades y adelantando tareas. La tarde la divido en un tiempo para hacer deporte y otro para repasar las cosas vistas durante la clase del día.

Julia: Creo que lo principal es saber organizarse de manera responsable aprovechando al máximo el tiempo.

¿Qué has aprendido en estas semanas más allá de los contenidos curriculares?

Antonio: He aprendido a distribuir mejor el tiempo y a hacer nuevas tareas domésticas. También a hacer más trabajo individual y ampliar contenidos por mi cuenta. Aunque esta situación es complicada, he crecido como persona ya que he sabido mantener la calma e intento ver lo positivo.

Julia: Me he dado cuenta de la importancia de la relaciones entre compañeros y profesores. También, que es posible lograr, a través de las clases online, prácticamente los mismos objetivos que los decididos a principios de curso siempre con responsabilidad y madurez. Pero sobre todo que un colegio no es un edificio lleno de mesas y sillas, sino que son personas que juntas aprenden sin importar las complicaciones que surjan.

 ¿Algún consejo para otros jóvenes como tú?

Belén: Yo les aconsejaría que intenten darle la vuelta a esta terrible situación. Que vean en estas semanas una oportunidad para valorar lo que tienen, aprovechar el tiempo en familia, reconectar con lo que tienen más apartado, ayudar a quien lo necesite ... Y sobre todo aprender de lo que estamos viviendo.

 Si pudieras dar un mensaje al mundo en estos días ¿cuál sería?

Julia: Me gustaría pedir que haya gran empatía entre nosotros. Creo que estos días es imprescindible más que nunca pensar en los demás y ponernos en el lugar del otro, pues solo así podremos mejorar esta realidad.

STUDYING AT HOME IN THE TIME OF CORONAVIRUS. 

2nd year baccalaureate pupils are facing an atypical end to the year

 During these weeks of confinement, at Puertoblanco-Montecalpe we are continuing the task that excites us most: being close to our pupils and their families, now through Attendis at Home. This working and online learning system makes it possible to continue the regular routine of classes. At the school we continue to accompany them day by day so they feel the encouragement and support of their teachers. Especially the 2nd year Baccalaureate pupils who, like Julia, Belén and Antonio in an end of school year full of uncertainties, are facing the end of their time at school with maturity and responsibility. Likewise, we are accompanying their families for whom the graduation of their children is the culminating point of the educational project they committed to.

How has your way of studying changed with the start of confinement?

Julia: Over this time, I have had to adapt to this exceptional situation by setting myself new study guidelines, and sharing the same space and resources with members of my family. We have learned to be more flexible and make better use of study times.

What is the biggest challenge of online learning for you?

Belén: In my opinion, the major challenge of online classes is trying to match the education that we are used to, maintaining the normal pace of study with the tools that we have. Thus, the teachers have adapted the syllabus for us, putting a greater emphasis on daily exercises and classwork.

Julia: At the beginning I thought that everything was going to be much more difficult, but with the help of all the teachers it has not been so challenging. They are doing everything they can to ensure this situation doesn´t get the best of us and after each day they show their support and their availability to help with anything. It is a luxury!

 How are you facing the current uncertainty regarding the selection exam?

Belén: At the moment, as our teachers recommend, I continue to study at the same rate, bearing in mind the new dates of exams. Above all, I believe that the most important thing is to set targets and not waste time.

 Antonio: It is a little difficult for me, not because of the syllabus or because of how ready we will be, but rather because of the uncertainty over how it is going to take place.

Julia: Although this situation causes certain concern and is quite overwhelming, I am confident that the bodies responsible for taking the decisions relating to the selection exam will be sensitive regarding the situation we find ourselves in.

 How do you organise your day/daily routine?

Belén: In the morning I have online classes and I devote the afternoon to studying. I try not to constantly use electronic devices in order to rest my eyes.

Antonio: My day consists in participating in all the classes and making as much progress as possible by doing activities and making progress on tasks. I divide the afternoon into a time for doing sport and another period for looking over the things seen during the daytime class.

Julia: I think the main thing is being able to organise yourself responsibly to make the most of time.

What have you learned over these weeks apart from the syllabus content?

Antonio: I have learned to manage time better and do new household tasks. I have also learned to do more individual work and to further explore content by myself. Although this situation is difficult, I have grown as a person as I have been able to stay calm and I try to see things positively.

Julia: I have realised the importance of relationships between classmates and teachers. Also, that through online classes it is possible to practically achieve the same objectives as those decided at the start of the year, always responsibly and in a mature manner. But, above all, that a school is not a building full of tables and chairs, rather, it is the people who learn together no matter what difficulties arise.

 Any advice for other young people like you?

Belén: I would advise them to try to turn this terrible situation on its head. To see these weeks as an opportunity to value what they have, make the most of family time, reconnect with what they are most distanced from, help those who need it... And above all, to learn from what we are experiencing.

If you could give a message to the world at this time, what would it be?

Julia: I would like to ask for a lot of empathy between one another. I think that, at present, it is more essential than ever to think of others and put ourselves in other people´s position, as only by doing so can we improve this situation.
