Un placer tenerte en nuestras páginas, a unos días de las elecciones municipales. En este caso, más que proyectos, lo pertinente sería preguntar por realidades en San Roque.

Este gobierno municipal puede presumir de tener un un balance de gestión muy importante y sobresaliente con los vecinos de San Roque. De una manera más palpable, a primera vista, siempre llama la atención el apartado de inversiones; destacar que este gobierno ha realizado más de 25 millones en inversiones durante el último mandato. En la primera legislatura nos marcamos tratar de alcanzar hasta 4 millones por año; en la siguiente alcanzamos los 5 y en esta, incluso superamos los 7 millones en algunos años, con un balance total de más de 25 millones de euros en la última legislatura.

Esa inversión se puede apreciar con facilidad en el Valle del Guadiaro.

A sólo unos metros de dónde nos encontramos, aquí en Torreguadiaro, se puede ver el nuevo edificio multiusos cuya inversión asciende de los tres millones de euros; un proyecto que se inició la adquisición de los terrenos del antiguo cuartel por 300.000 euros. Resaltar que en este edificio hemos invertido cerca de un millón de euros en una construcción para el Servicio Andaluz de Salud, ya que acogerá el consultorio médico de Torreguadiaro. Por cierto, una vez más en mirando por los vecinos, ya que hemos escuchado en voces del PP decir que los vecinos pueden desplazarse hasta San Enrique, edificio por cierto que en mi primer mandato también invertimos más de dos tercios de su inversión total, algo más de dos millones de euros con fondos del Ayuntamiento.

¿Eso y mucho más se pude ver en el Valle del Guadiaro?

Se encuentra en la fase final al conexión peatonal, con un puente sobre el río Guadiaro, entre las barriadas de Guadiaro y San Enrique. Esto conectará tanto las nuevas pistas deportivas y recinto ferial de San Enrique; con los espacios del recinto ferial de Guadiaro, también una inversión de este gobierno municipal para hacer crecer los espacios abiertos, públicos y deportivos [también para animales] en la zona. Estamos seguro que los vecinos pondrán en valor este esfuerzo y lo más de 3 millones de euros de inversión en ambas barriadas. Destacar también que venimos finalizando el VII Plan de Asfaltado, que ya ha rehabilitado nada menos que 350 viales con nuevas calzadas y acerados. Y por supuesto, como uno de los grandes proyectos, esa primera piedra de las diez viviendas en Guadiaro, una promoción de vivienda pública a la que esperamos que pronto se sumen también iniciativas privadas. Contamos con los impuestos más bajos en ese sentido, bonificación el impuesto de construcciones casi al 95%, para tratar de impulsar la construcción de viviendas accesibles. Y muchas más cosas que no se ve y qué también se disfrutan, como esas más de 1.000 actividades y talleres municipales.

Lejos de conformismo, renueva también algunos puestos de su lista con una fuerte apuesta por la juventud…

Hemos unido ambas cuestiones. Por un lado, damos consistencia por una continuidad y un equilibrio sosegado con una buena parte de un equipo de gobierno que ha funcionado fantásticamente bien, al servicio de los sanroqueños durante los últimos años. Y por otro lado, en los llamados ‘puestos de salida’, incorporamos a varios compañeros jóvenes que entendemos deben formar parte del proyecto; el relevo es una necesidad también en política y las nuevas ideas. En el caso del Valle del Guadiaro, la compañera Eva Leticia Gil, cuenta con una larga trayectoria en el PSOE y con un gran trabajo ciudadano en su carrera. También, en la zona, contamos con la experiencia de dos compañeros como son Óscar Ledesma y Belén Jiménez que ya suman 8 años trabajando en la corporación, en áreas tan importantes como Educación, Comercio y Obras y Servicios, como es el caso de Óscar que además ostenta la Tenencia de Alcaldía y mantiene un contado directo y fluido con los vecinos del Valle.

¿Le preocupa la falta de participación para el 28-M? Se ha hablado mucho sobre esto…

Las elecciones municipales, en el cuarto domingo de mayo, tienen unas connotaciones muy conocidas, especialmente en Andalucía y es posible que veamos una participación inferior a la media nacional. En las últimas tuvimos un 57% de participación y vamos a hacer todo lo posible por promover la implicación de los vecinos y vecinas de San Roque. Cada cuatro años tienen la oportunidad de decidir sobre su futuro, de una manera municipal y en este caso participar de la vida política sanroqueña. Esperamos su apoyo a este proyecto, que entendemos que es el mejor para San Roque y continuar con el crecimiento y evolución del municipio.

¿Esta misma línea de proyecto se puede trasladar a todo PSOE gaditano?

En ese sentido también lo tenemos muy claro. Sabemos cómo ayudar y apoyar al crecimiento de la provincia, como lo hemos hecho hasta ahora, liderando en políticas activas de empleo y sociales. Estamos alcanzando cifras impresionantes, con datos anteriores no sólo a la pandemia sino a la crisis inmobiliaria. Batimos el número de empleados cotizando en la Seguridad Social (20,6 millones) y se ha reducido en más de 14.000 los desempleados en la provincia. Sabemos la senda y cómo trabajar para seguir mejorando la calidad de vida de los gaditanos.

Antes de acabar, ¿un mensaje directo y claro?

Apostamos por seguir cumpliendo con los compromisos adquiridos y ejecutados el en municipio. Por seguir generando un mayor número de actividades, una ciudad despierta y que puede conseguir mantener las tradiciones y realidades de sus diferentes barriadas y a la vez lograr fortalecerse como un municipio cohesionado y equilibrado en inversiones y desarrollo. Seguiremos apostando por políticas de empleo, sociales, planes de inversiones y todos los proyectos que hagan mejorar San Roque y seguir brillando. Que los vecinos y vecinas estén orgullosos de pertenecer a este municipio y de seguir creciendo, por supuesto, sin dejar a nadie atrás.

“We are the best project for the

growth and development of San Roque”

It is a pleasure to have you among our pages, a few days away from the municipal elections. In this case, more than projects, the relevant thing would be to ask you about realities in San Roque.

This municipal government can boast of having a very important and outstanding assessment of management with the residents of San Roque. In a more tangible way, at first sight, the section on investments is always striking; it is worth highlighting that this government has made more than 25 million of investments during the last mandate. In the first legislature we set out to try to reach 4 million a year; in the next one we reached 5 and in this one we have even surpassed 7 million some years, with an overall balance of more than 25 million Euros in the last legislature.

That investment can easily be appreciated in Valle del Guadiaro.

Just a few metres from we are located, here in Torreguadiaro, you can see the new multi-purpose building whose investment amounts to three million Euros; a project that began with the acquisition of the land of the old barracks for 300,000 Euros. It is worth highlighting that in this building we have invested almost one million Euros in a construction for the Andalusian Health Service, which will house the Torreguadiaro health clinic. Of course, it is once again a focus for residents, as we have heard the PP say that residents can travel to San Roque, a building of course in which, during my first mandate, we also invested more than two thirds of its total investment, somewhat over two million Euros with funds from the Council.

It is possible to see that and much more in Valle del Guadiaro?

The pedestrian connection is at the final stage, with a bridge over the Guadiaro River, between the neighbourhoods of Guadiaro and San Enrique. This will connect both the new sports areas and the fair ground of San Enrique; with the spaces of the fair ground of Guadiaro, also an investment by this municipal government to increase open, public, and sporting spaces (also for animals) in the area. We are certain that residents will value this effort and the more than 3 million Euros of investment in both neighbourhoods. It is also worth highlighting that we have been finalising the VII Surfacing Plan which has already renovated at least 350 roads with new surfaces and paving. And of course, as one of the major projects, laying the first stone of the ten properties in Guadiaro, a public property development that we hope will also be joined by private initiatives. We have the lowest taxes in that regard, a discount on the building tax of almost 95%, in order to try to encourage the construction of accessible properties. And many more things that are not seen and that are also enjoyed, such as the more than 1,000 activities and municipal workshops.

Far from conformity, you are also revamping some positions on your list with a strong commitment to youth...

We have combined both matters. On one hand, we provide consistency for continuity and a calm balance with a large part of a government team that has worked fantastically well at the service of the people of San Roque in recent years. And on the other hand, in the so-called “outgoing posts,” we are incorporating young colleagues who we believe must be a part of the project; change is also a need in politics and so are new ideas. In the case of Valle del Guadiaro, the colleague Eva Leticia Gil, has a long trajectory in the PSOE and great civic work in her career. Also, in the area, we have the experience of two colleagues, Óscar Ledesma and Belén Jiménez who already have 8 years working in the corporation, in very important areas such as Education, Trade and Works and Services, as in the case of Óscar who also holds the Deputy Mayor position and has direct and smooth contact with the residents of Valle.

Are you worried about the lack of participation on 28-M? There has been a lot of talk about this...

The municipal elections, on the fourth Sunday of May, have connotations that are very well-known, especially in Andalusia and it is possible that we will see participation lower than the national average. In the last elections we had a 57% participation rate, and we are going to do everything possible to promote the involvement of the residents of San Roque. Every four years they have the opportunity to decide their future, on a municipal level and in this case participate in the political life of San Roque. We expect their support for this project, which we believe is the best for San Roque and continuing the growth and development of the municipality.

Is it possible to transfer the same trend for the project to all of the PSOE in Cadiz?

We are also very clear in that regard. We know how to help and support the growth of the province, as we have done thus far, leading in active employment and social policies. We are attaining impressive figures, with numbers from not only before the pandemic but also the property crisis. We have beat the number of employees paying into Social Security (20.6 million) and the number of unemployed people in the province has dropped by over 14,000. We know the path and how to work to continue improving the quality of life of the people of Cadiz.

Before finishing, a direct and clear message?

We commit to continue fulfilling the commitments entered into and implemented in the municipality. To continuing to generate a greater amount of activity, a conscious city which can manage to maintain the traditions and realities of its different neighbourhoods and in turn grow stronger as a cohesive and balanced municipality in terms of investments and development. We will continue to commit to employment and social policies, investment plans and all the projects that make San Roque improve and continue to shine. Residents should be proud of belonging to this municipality and of continuing to grow, of course, without leaving anyone behind.
